Vector PDFs and scans are different inputs
Vector PDFs store lines and curves as drawing elements. Conversion can transfer them to editable DXF, with curves converted to polylines. Images and clipping are not converted. Check the resulting geometry and dimensions before estimation.
A drawing scan contains pixels rather than vector lines. This tool does not convert scans. A separate photo-to-DXF tool can propose an outline from a part image.

Is the original PDF preserved?
Yes. You work with a new DXF and the original document is not overwritten.
Can I edit the converted outline?
Yes. Conversion continues in the CAD editor, where you can edit lines and add text or dimensions.
