Turn a part photo into DXF with AI
A photo can be a starting point for a part estimate. AI proposes an outline and attempts to match dimensions; you verify the final shape and scale.
- Upload an image or use a camera
- Outline proposal and visible dimension matching
- Manual correction and CAD editing
Three steps to move forward
- 01
Photograph the part or choose an image with readable dimensions.
- 02
Choose a proposal and verify the outline and a known dimension.
- 03
Refine the drawing and save DXF for estimation.
From a photo to a verified dimension
For a useful reference, photograph the part straight on with a clear outline and a known dimension. Perspective, handwriting and open lines can hinder recognition. The application does not invent scale without a known length or automatically correct perspective.
Photo recognition requires sign-in and sends the image to an external automated analysis service. Review the proposal, especially holes and dimensions. The resulting DXF is for estimation only, not manufacturing or machine control.
Frequently asked questions
What if the outline proposal is inaccurate?
Trace the outline manually and refine it in the CAD editor. Verify scale and dimensions before estimation.
Does recognition use an application credit?
Photo recognition itself does not use an application credit. The first save or export of the resulting part costs 1 credit; subsequent saves and exports of the same part do not charge again. The first successful cost estimate of the resulting DXF follows the calculator's credit rules.
